My Story

Date into Rescue: 03/30/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Cammie was found as a stray and landed at a rural shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.

Special Needs: Cammie is spayed, up to date on all vaccines and heartworm negative. Cammie had a dental on 4/2/21 and lost 6 teeth. She is currently being treated for a mouth infection. She is also currently eating soft food only due to her dental surgery. Cammie also had a cyst removed from her tail on 4/2/21.

What kind of home would be best for me: Cammie is a lap dog looking for her lap. She'd be happy as the only dog, or could share her people with another pet (dog or cat). Cammie is looking for a home where someone is home during the day. It could be a retiree, a work from home setup or other. She loves to ride and would be great as an RV pal or to run errands around town.

What is my personality like: Cammie was found as a stray. She was badly matted, had hot spots from unclean conditions, and in dire need of a dental. As you can see in her photos, she required a serious haircut to get started on her new life. All of her medical needs have been addressed thanks to loving donors. While Cammie's past is totally unknown, we are certain her future is going to be bright!

Cammie is a lover. She loves people. She loves laps. She loves to go for car rides. She loves warm beds. She loves other dogs. Cammie would love to give her heart to you!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Cammie was found as a stray. The shelter estimated her between 8-10 years old. The vet suggested she is 8 years old based on her overall health and condition. Given this, we have estimated her birthday at 03/17/2013.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
