My Story

Date into Rescue: 4/28/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Flash was surrendered by his owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.

Special Needs: Flash is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Flash has had some diarrhea but his fecals have come back negative. It is likely stress induced. Note that Flash is a cute dog that needs an EXPERIENCED OWNER.

What kind of home would be best for me: Flash is looking for a home full of hikes, walks and adventures. He is curious about everything and is ready to make a mess with that curiosity. Flash the classic boy with holes in his jeans, mud and frogs in his pockets. Flash is looking for an experienced owner who understands behavior can be shaped and is ready for a dog who likes to move. A home with older children or no children would be an option for Flash. Also, Flash would do well with another dog young dog ready to roll or a home to himself.

What is my personality like? Flash enjoys being center stage and making sure all eyes are on him. He is incredibly smart and requires physical and mental stimulation. Flash would do well with agility training, nose work toys and dog puzzles. He's always ready for a treat and is eager to earn that yummy snack, so training will be easy and quick. Flash's eyes are always saying 'what's next:'

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly, he will walk up and sniff everyone in the room, then choose who gets to pet him. He will stick by the human he chooses. He is looking for the person who can lead others as well as himself. Flash will not enjoy someone who wants emotional attention only, he is a boy of action.

Tips and Tidbits: Flash's estimated birthday is 4/28/2019 Flash has been moved to several of our kennels because he likes to bolt out of the gates. His new home will have to be prepared to train him doors are not for escaping. Flash has enjoyed the kiddie pool and will wade in to bite the water. Water play will be a great energy release for Flash in his new home.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
