My Story

Date into Rescue: 4/24/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Stray Gaffney

Special Needs: Boyd is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Boyd is a young, active dog looking to be your best friend. His ideal home has another dog in it for play and companionship. Boyd loves to be where you are and would be happiest in an environment where someone is home during the day (work from home, active retiree, etc.). He needs plenty of physical and mental stimulation.

What is my personality like: Boyd's history is completely unknown. He and his sister Raymie were found as strays near our rescue and brought here for safety. They were well-fed and have known human affection. Yet no one came forward for these beautiful babies.

Boyd is the more social of the pair found as strays. He is a sweet boy who’s great with dogs and loves people. He sure has a puppy personality because he is ready to play all the time. Boyd is super clean in his crate and has never turned down food. He loves to play with his 3 buddies that he lives with at the rescue and he has also done very well with another larger play group.

Boyd is active and needs lots of exercise and stimulation. If he is bored or misses you he can jump a fence. He loves to cuddle and prefers your companionship. He will let you pick him up and carry him around like a big baby. We're trying to teach him he's too big for that but it sure is cute! Boyd has a nonchalant style that goes easily with the flow.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Boyd's estimated birthday is 10/7/2020. He was found as a stray so this is a complete guess based on his overall condition.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
