My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/2/2021

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Cyrus is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 6/9/21 he had a dental polishing and a skin tag removed from his right eye.

What kind of home would be best for me: Cyrus is a young, active family dog. He is full of personality and wicked smart. Cyrus is looking for a home with another active dog, a family that enjoys being outside and will include him in adventures, and an interest in training. Cyrus will be fine with cats and children over 6.

What is my personality like: Cyrus is an active, fun, and friendly boy ready for whatever life has to offer him! He has a very bright and positive attitude and takes quickly to both people and dogs. Another dog in the home would be very beneficial to help keep Cyrus entertained, and would also help him establish the routine in the home with another that already knows the ropes. Children would also be okay (Cyrus would make for a very good family pet).

Cyrus is big on exploring and as such would love to be worked with on games with nose work, puzzle games, and he’d be more than happy to tag along on hiking trips! Hide and seek (a fun game that can help hone his nose work) is a very easy past time that keeps his attention for a very long time! There is nothing quite like seeing how hard Cyrus will try to win you over by coming over and demanding your lap. He doesn’t know many commands yet, but he does do very well on a leash. He has been trained to stay on your left side (so he’s going to be easy to take on walks around the block).

Cyrus seems to catch on to things rather quickly so helping him learn a family’s individual routine should be rather easy and come quickly to him. You want to make sure food is not left on counters or anywhere he could get to them (he can and will jump pretty high up to get something). Overall Cyrus is generally well behaved, sweet, and just looking for a family to call his own!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Cyrus's birthday is 10/8/2014

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

Thank you for considering CPR!
