Mabel was found as a stray, matted to the bones. Caring citizens saved her from the side of the road and reached out to Carolina Poodle Rescue to help. We suspect Mabel accidentally wandered away from home. Sadly, no one came forward for her. Mabel had clearly been on the streets for a while.

Mabel was found as a stray so we have no history on her. She is a very senior dog. Mabel has skin allergies and eats a beef only diet supplemented with Vitamin D daily. She has dementia and spends much of her day either sleeping or pacing. She is a gentle angel who is great with other dogs, good with children, and as easy going as you will meet.

Mabel is happy in her foster home, but available for adoption if someone is looking to offer hospice care to a senior shih tzu. This independent girl has a gentle spirit that melts the hearts of everyone she meets.
