My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/2/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Prince is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 7/14/21 Prince had a dental polishing.

What kind of home would be best for me: Prince is an active, energetic dog looking for a home that will keep up. He'd be a fantastic running or hiking buddy. Prince has met other dogs and is fine with him, but doesn't really engage in play. He would be happy as the only dog in your home. Prince has been indifferent to our resident cat. If you're an active home looking for an active boy, Prince would love to meet you!

What is my personality like: Prince is a very intelligent dog with lots of love to give. He is very friendly and likes to meet new people. He is big on hugging people and there is not a moment that goes by that his tail is not wagging. At first there may be a little hesitancy when he first meets new people but that soon fades out into this wonderful and loving dog who wants nothing more than attention (and treats of course!). There is not a single room that Prince will walk into that he will not bring at least a little bit of joy into. His bright attitude has a way of rubbing off on the people around him and making them feel just a bit better (wannabe therapy dog).

Prince loves to run… it may be his favorite form of exercise! He goes into the rescue’s field and gallops around (he loves to explore new things) for extended periods of time while continuously coming back to where his people are to check up on them. He’s very attentive when he gets to know someone and likes to know what is happening with them. Prince lived in a home previously and so far from what we have seen he does well with being on a leash (actually loves to go on walks and would really enjoy an active owner willing to go on hikes with him), he does well with his crate (no messes), and he has been around our cat here at the rescue and has treated him with indifference. Other dogs are okay although he’s not met another dog that he really likes to play with (more like coexist).

Prince is the type of dog that would really excel in multiple different things. The possibilities are endless! He would do well with nose work, agility, obedience, and so much more! He’s looking to be a companion of a family that is active, likes to go places, and most of all just loving and caring!

How do I act when I first meet new people: A little timid at first, but warms up quickly

Tips and Tidbits: Prince's estimated birthday is 10/19/2017

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
