My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/27/21

Reason for being in rescue: Stray Lexington

Special Needs: Trevor is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Trevor will have a dental polishing the week of 8/16/21. He will be ready for his forever home 8/20/21.

What kind of home would be best for me: For 10 years young, this dog has lots of energy. Trevor is no couch potato and is definitely not looking for a Netflix and chill lifestyle. Trevor's forever home is active, involves lots of ball playing, and would ideally be near water. Trevor is good with other animals and has loved everyone he's met. He'd be happy with another pet or as the only dog in the home. If you're looking for a more mature dog to take on hiking, camping and boating adventures, Trevor would love to be your man!

What is my personality like: If you want a fuzzy little boy that loves water and tennis balls then trevor is the boy for you! He is all fun all the time. Trevor loves food, playing ball, water, dogs, and people. He’s super clean in his crate too. Even though he’s good with dogs, he will go and bark at new ones through their crate. He is not a fence fighter outside, but if it’s in a closed room and he’s given the chance, Trevor will bark at other dogs in crates. This is behavior that can be modified with positive reinforcement training.

This boy has such a happy demeanor his energy rubs off on you!! If you’re having a bad day he is all for cheering you up with a good game of fetch. He can go for hours. When he’s done playing fetch and ready to cool off you can catch him chilling in the kiddy pool fully submerged, and if there’s no kiddy pool in sight he will use the water bowls to his advantage.

Trevor is looking for a fun family that has a nice size backyard that he can run in, someone who doesn’t mind tossing a tennis ball to him for hours and will give him all the water sources he desires (extra points if you like to go on water adventures).

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Trevor's owners stated he is 10 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 7/7/2011.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
