My Story

Date into Rescue: 08/13/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Yoji is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Yoji is blind. Yoji prefers a one-person home.

What kind of home would be best for me: Not for a first time dog owner. Yoji is looking for a home that first and foremost understands that a vision impairment is not a condemnation of a quality life. This boy is full of joy and hope and wants someone who loves him for who he is. Yoji's ideal home has someone home during the day for lots of snuggles and lap time. He needs consistency and routine to learn his surroundings and be the best version of himself. Yoji is good with other smaller gentle dogs and with cats. Yoji needs to be in a home with a single individual - he does not like to share his person.

What is my personality like: Whatever life was in the past for Yoji, it involved lots of love. We have no idea how long he has been blind, but there is no cataract development, it is simply congenital. This does not slow Yoji down. Within 36 hours in a new environment he has figured out his space and is confidently navigating the world around him.

Yoshi is an affectionate, gentle dog looking for his home. He's had a lot of change in a short time and is eager to get settled in his forever home. This handsome boy is a sleep in the bed, cuddle on the couch kind of buddy. He doesn't need long walks, but loves to enjoy the smells and sounds of the great outdoors in the fenced yard at his foster home.

If you're looking for the most capable boy who will give you his heart, Yoji would love to be your man!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Yoji's birthday is 06/14/2012

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
