Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Bulldog (medium coat)
Weight: 35 lbs
Height: 14 in
Estimated Birthdate: 8/15/2017
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Jade was found as a stray and landed at the animal shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.
Special Needs: Jade is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. We know that Jade has had puppies in the past as she has a large c-section scar. Given this, we have elected not to do exploratory surgery to confirm if she is spayed or not. Jade will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract. IF she goes into heat, you will bring her back to Carolina Poodle Rescue's vet and we will have her spayed at our cost.
What kind of home would be best for me: Jade is THE HAPPIEST girl you will ever meet! Don't let those ears fool you, this sweetheart is as gentle and loving as they come. Jade is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. Cats would be fine. She really just wants to be with people. She thinks she is a lap dog! Jade's ideal home has someone home during the day. It could be an active retiree, a work from home set-up, or other circumstance. Jade isn't overly active and her breed is very heat sensitive so short walks are all she needs. She would be happy with children over 10 that want a dog to sleep in their bed and snuggle.
What is my personality like: Jade wandered up to the house of a stranger in North Carolina and refused to leave. The home owners loved her personality, but couldn't keep her so Jade was taken to the local shelter. Aside from the cropping of her ears for unnecessary reasons, Jade has clearly been well loved.
Jade is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She has a way of winning over every person she has ever met! She does very well with meeting new people and will fall in love with anyone willing to offer their lap to her. Jade very much so wants to convince everyone that she was meant to be a lap dog. She likes to play and wrestle with her people but she tires out fairly easily. She also loves to play with chew toys. She loves to be on the couch and will ask her forever home for a spot on it.
Jade would do just fine as an only dog seeing as how she seems to prefer the company of people over canine companions. She needs work walking on a leash but for the most part will follow along during the walk. Our experience here at the rescue has been that Jade is mostly clean in her crate but could use more work with it. She does need a consistent routine of outside breaks for potty.
Overall Jade is just a very loving dog full of love that she wants to share with her forever home!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Jade was found as a stray so we have no history on her. We celebrate her birthday as 8/15/2017
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
