My Story

Date into Rescue: 8/13/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Stray in Gaffney. Felix was dumped over the rescue’s fence into a large group of dogs. When caregivers were gathering dogs from the field they noticed a strange dog at the end of the field. Felix quickly stole the hearts of every caregiver here at the rescue.

Special Needs: Felix is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Felix has shown that he will guard food when it comes to other dogs and this behavior can become extreme, including attacking other dogs. Because of this we are seeking an only dog home.

What kind of home would be best for me: Felix is looking for an active lifestyle where he will get plenty of exercise. HE WILL NOT BE PLACED WITH OTHER DOGS OR CATS.

What is my personality like: Felix is everything you could ever want in a companion, as long as you only want one pet. He can be very loving and affectionate and will gladly share his whole soul with his person. He loves to go exploring and would make a fantastic hiking partner for someone. Felix can be very active at times but is easily tuckered out with a few play sessions. He is clean in his crate. Felix would be ideal for someone who works from home and just wants a companion to stay around the house with them!

Felix has shown guarding behavior with other dogs that can easily escalate into an extreme situation. Because of this we will not place him with other dogs or cats. He is not a dog that you will ever take to a dog park or doggie social event. He is an only dog.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Felix loves meeting new people! Everyone is a friend to Felix.

Tips and Tidbits: We do not know Felix’s background and we estimate him at about 7 years old. We celebrate his birthday on 8/13/2014.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
