My Story

Date into Rescue: 8/23/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Maeve was advertised as free to a good home on Facebook. One of our caregivers said yes!

Special Needs: Maeve is a senior girl. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Maeve has all sorts of senior dog challenges. Her heartbeat is irregular. Her eyes are clouded and her vision is poor. Her dental care has been poor throughout her life and her teeth show it. Her ears have not been kept clean and have lots of bacteria, but a good groom and daily meds is helping. Our goal is to make her comfortable and offer her the best final days!

What kind of home would be best for me: Maeve is a wonderful girl looking for someone who wants to give a beautiful senior their final home. We don't know if we are talking days or weeks or years, but we know Maeve will make whatever time she has with you worth every second. She is great with other animals and has a mellow, calming demeanor around humans.

What is my personality like: Maeve is a wonderful soul that will melt anyone’s heart by just simply being around them. She is very much so ready for retirement and already living the comfortable life here at the rescue. Maeve is ultimately a hospice dog and for whatever time she has left we are dedicated to making it worthwhile!

Maeve did not take long to become a true part of the CPR family. At first sight she has captured every caregiver’s heart. Her caregivers have noted that she has a very calming affect about her where you can’t help but feel a little bit more at ease when you are sitting with her. She is very calm and mellow. She gets along with others just fine. She is indifferent toward cats.

Maeve really is just an sweet dog well suited for any home that where someone is home more than they are away and want a lap dog to keep them company. Maeve’s favorite sleeping place is in the lap of her caregivers. She truly is a unique girl with so much love to offer in her own way.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Calm and welcoming

Tips and Tidbits: Maeve's owners stated she is 13 years old. We celebrate her birthday as 8/23/2008.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
