My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/9/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Darwin is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. DARWIN IS BONDED TO SAMPSON. THEY WILL ONLY BE ADOPTED TO A HOME TOGETHER.

What kind of home would be best for me: First and foremost, Darwin is looking for a home with room in their heart for 2 standard poodles. DARWIN AND SAMPSON ARE BONDED AND WILL ONLY BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. If you don't have room in your heart for 2 big boys, Darwin is not your dog.

Darwin would do best in a home with a family home more than not. Children would be fine given his calm demeanor. He would be fine with an extra large or small dog to add to his and Sampson's doggie family. Darwin would enjoy daily walks but doesn't need a rigorous exercise routine.

What is my personality like: Darwin and his "brother" Sampson were the beloved pets of a family severely impacted by COVID. When circumstances no longer allowed them to care for their boys, they reached out to rescue for help finding them a home where they will continue to live their days together.

Darwin is very fond of Sampson who he has lived with in his previous home, they are a bonded pair.  Both boys love playing in the big field together and love one another dearly.

Dawin is a total sweetheart and much more confident than his buddy Sampson. Dawin likes to lay his head in laps, and be near a human. He follows his caregivers around in the field making sure they are nearby.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Darwin's birthday is 1/21/2013

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
