My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/21/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Neptune was found as a stray and landed at the shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.

Special Needs: Neptune is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Neptune would do well in a number of homes. He would be great with children, he would be great with active retirees, he would dog great with or without other animals. Neptune just wants a good head scratch and belly rub and to take walks with you! He isn't a high energy dog and doesn't need much exercise, he would prefer to be with his humans as much as possible. Neptune's ideal home has someone home during the day.

What is my personality like: Could be a first time dog owner. Neptune is by definition an easy dog. His personality is easy going and he is very well mannered, it's obvious that someone loved him very much and worked with him. Neptune knows basic commands(sit, speak, stay, paw), he could use a touch up on these skills but for the most part he knows these well. He walks well on a leash.

Neptune does well with large dogs, small dogs and cats. He is very vocal and will greet you by talking to you, he loves to bark and talk back. Neptune is an easy dog to love. He is good in any situation and with everyone and everything he's met at our rescue. He is looking for humans that will never abandon him!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Neptune was found as a stray. We have no history on him. We celebrate his birthday as 9/10/2016.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
