Why am I with a rescue group? Sugar Babe was raised as the only dog of a quiet retiree. She and her mom were the best of friends. Sadly, Sugar Babe's mom had to enter an assisted living facility. Her family boarded her at a kennel for 3 months trying to find a home. When Sugar Babe landed in rescue in October 2021 she was scared, confused, and a little grouchy. We cannot blame her!

At 15 years, Sugar Babe is not happy about her changes in circumstances. Since arriving in rescue she's had a painful eye removed, had a much-needed dental, and is now current on vaccines. We hoped that addressing some medical needs may help her demeanor; sadly it did not. Sugar Babe simply lives life on her terms. Sometimes she is happy and content and quiet. Other times she is moody and snappy and wants to be left alone.

Sugar Babe is highly independent. We know she was someone's baby and was very well loved. Her little heart is simply broken and we don't know that she will ever share it with another. Thankfully, her foster home understands this and allows her the space to live on her terms.

Can’t have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more! r having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
