My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/21/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Harry was found as a stray and landed in the shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.

Special Needs: Harry is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Harry is being neutered 11/4/2021 and will be ready for his forever home by 11/6/2021.

What kind of home would be best for me: Harry is young and active and looking for a home that can keep up. Harry's home has another young, active dog that will play and teach him the ropes. His family enjoys being outdoors and active and will commit to positive reinforcement training. Harry would be fine with children over 10.

What is my personality like: Harry is a happy go lucky dog ready to go on adventures! He is very friendly and loving and does well when meeting new people (can be a little shy in some environments when he doesn’t know anyone in the room). Harry is very active and needs a home that can keep up with giving him plenty or physical exercise. He loves to run in our fields and would be fantastic for someone who wants a running Buddy.

Harry is smart and catches on to things quickly. Routine helps him a lot and makes him feel more confident which will be very beneficial going into his forever home. He also needs plenty of mental stimulation. We have found that he does like snuffle mats, puzzle games, and we believe he would love clicker training. He can be easily persuaded with food so training should be a relatively easy task for him. Harry is good with other dogs and we would recommend there be another dog in the home to keep him company. He might not play excitedly with another dog until he gets to know them but once he knows the other dog is a friend they will be best friends.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Harry was found as a stray so we have no history on him. Based on his health and overall condition we estimate he was 2 years old when he arrived in rescue. WE celebrate his birthday as 10/21/2019

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
