Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Maltese (medium coat)
Weight: 11 lbs
Height: 12 in
Estimated Birthdate: 10/21/2012
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: owner release
Special Needs: Boo is reportedly neutered by his previous vet records. We do not have documentation of this other than the previous vet records. These records do not contain documentation of the surgery. He will go out on a spay/neuter contract. Boo has allergies - and will need a special food, good flea control and regular vet visits. He's a sweetheart and he's worth it.
What kind of home would be best for me: Sweet Boo - who wants only a warm spot by the fire, a quiet and loving companion human and to watch TV, eat well and enjoy retirement.
What is my personality like: Boo's story is all too familiar. He was the beloved companion of a wonderful couple. Sadly, his mom died and dad's capacity to care for his companions diminished. The family reached out for help as they were making impossible decisions related to their father. So Boo and his "sister" Bela arrived in rescue.
Boo is a very laid back dog with a low energy level. Boo is looking for a home that will provide a nice soft bed with plenty of love to give. He’s a lap dog essentially and would love to cuddle up when you are just watching tv. He ultimately looking for his own retirement home.
Boo has some skin problems that cause his hair to not grow right and takes meds everyday for it. He is big on fashion and likes to wear clothes (the clothes help keep him warm and protect from the sun). He is everything you could ever want in a dog for someone who is looking for a calm dog to be by their side. He is fine with other dogs and is very mellow about everything. We would describe him as a low maintenance dog.
Boo is looking for his lap. One to call his own.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Boo's owners stated he is 8 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 10/21/2012. Boo has been on a heck of a return to health journey since he came to us in October but finally, finally he's ready for that home of his own. I hope we can find it.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
