Biography

Rowdy is a man with a lot of quirks and boundaries. While he can be challenging at times, he is also a total lovebug when the mood strikes him. Rowdy is very protective of his food and crate. He is a very old man and more than likely protected his things for must of his life. We have found the best thing to do when he is being protective over something is to simply walk away and come back later. He wants his boundaries respected and will be happy once they are respected.

Rowdy loves to snuggle up in a humans lap once it's just the two of them. He asks that you go slow about picking him up as if you startle him, he will get grouchy! Rowdy prefers life without dogs, they simply are in the way of his time with his human. Rowdy can definitely be a companion dog  once you overlook his grouchy side.

Rowdy is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. He is vision impaired. On 11/15/21, Rowdy had a dental with extractions and had a mass removed from his side. On 1/25/22, Rowdy had another dental with extractions. Rowdy is a senior dog. He has a grade 5/6 heart murmur. Rowdy is on a myriad of daily meds, including 12.5 mg of Lasix twice a day, 2.5 mg of Enalopril twice a day, and 2.5 mg Pemabendon twice a day. Strict compliance to a medical routine is key for Rowdy. Even with this, his prognosis is guarded per our veterinarian partner.

Sponsorship

Can't have a dog of your own? Have a soft spot for old, sick or hard to place dogs? It only takes a $20 a month donation for me to be your virtual dog! I need at least 10 virtual adopters (sponsors) to help cover my monthly costs.  If I have medical challenges I need even more!  If I have medical challenges I need even more! The caregivers at Carolina Poodle Rescue will do the rest.  Just think, without ever having to leave your home, you can have your very own online dog that will send you update emails, make Facebook posts, and be eternally grateful for your support!  Go to the donate link at the top of the page for instructions as to how to donate.
