My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/14/2021

Reason for being in rescue: stray

Special Needs? Cami was heart worm positive in December of 2021 and underwent treatment. She had her last treatment and started regular heartworm prevention in April.  Weight: 48 lb

What kind of home would be best for me: Cami is looking for a home without other dogs or cats. She is wonderful with people. She co-exists peacefully here with several dogs but really wants a home all her own.

What is my personality like: This is a great dog with a whole lot of love to give to everyone. She wants nothing more than to have someone to call her person. She is a moderately active dog that like to go out on runs and get plenty of playtime. She would prefer her home be free of other dogs. She can go out around other dogs on a leash but she does not like playing with other dogs and often gets defensive. So for safety in the home we would not recommend there be another dog. She is a fantastic cuddle buddy and would love to share a couch with someone while watching tv.

There is nothing better in life than good food for her. She particularly likes canned food or cooked food mixed in with her kibble although she will eat just about anything anyways. She really enjoys puzzle games and interactive toys. One way to keep her easily entertained is to take some of her kibble and toss it around on a blanket for her so she has to “hunt” it.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Cami is very affectionate and friendly. She wants to be by a person’s side whenever she has the chance.

Tips and Tidbits: 10/14/2019 is her estimated birthday. Cami can not have another dog or cat in the home.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
