My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/13/2021 - we have spent the last 6 months figuring out Yuki's medical issues

Reason for being in rescue: found as a stray in Upstate SC

Special Needs: Yuki is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Yuki has sebaceous adenitis confirmed with biopsy at the University of Georgia at Athens Vet Teaching Hospital.  UGA has suggested a trial of cyclosporin which we have not started yet.  His SA appears to be controlled and he does NOT need medicated baths or oils at the time.  Full medical records are available.

What kind of home would be best for me? Yuki is looking for a home that feels that beauty is only skin deep.  He may not look like other poodles but he has the temperament, zest for life and the intelligence and intuitive grasp of humans that is indicative of his breed.  He simply does not require all the grooming and that may not be a bad thing.  You'll spend your life proudly walking Yuki while people approach you in awe and say "oh my goodness what is HE:"  He's beautiful - in his own way of course.

What is my personality like: Yuki is love bug. He wants nothing more than to hug his humans and cuddle up beside them to take his naps. He’s very playful and will play tug of war with you all day long! He easily learns new tricks with his only motivation being that he can get petted on for his spectacular performances. Yuki can be quite clingy to his humans at times but he just loves them so much! He’s very intelligent and although he’s very treat motivated it’s also possible to teach Yuki with just praise! He thrives on human interaction.

Yuki does love his fellow canine companions but they don’t hold a candle to his human companions. He is looking for a home that can shower him with love and attention. He doesn’t really mind being the only dog.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Yuki doesn’t know what it means to hear the word stranger. Everyone must be a friend to him! He very easily will attach himself to his family and bond quickly with any person he comes into contact with. Yuki is very happy boy with a lot of love he wants to share with his humans!

Tips and Tidbits: 11/13/2017 is his estimated birthday. Yuki is fine with dogs and cats of all sizes.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
