My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/13/2021

Reason for being in rescue: Zeke's owners loved him very, very much but realized he was more dog than they could safely care for. They want him to have someone who can give him his best life.

Special Needs:  None noted now - as with any living creature once you get to a certain age, you've lived life and you've lived through some things.  Zeke had some dental work done recently and had some lumps and bumps removed.  He is a mature dog but he has been exceptionally well cared for and that bodes well for a long and successful retirement with you. We have complete medical records on Zeke going way back - all which will go with him to his new vet so his new vet can have a great history on him.

What kind of home would be best for me: Zeke would make a great companion in a variety of settings.  He aims to please.

What is my personality like: Zeke wants to share his whole heart with his people. He is a very sweet dog and when he first meets people he is enthusiastic and excited. Zeke is one of those happy go lucky dogs that are very easy win over. He is highly treat motivated and loves his food dearly.  Zeke is at the rescue due to no one’s fault other than the hardships that sometimes come from life. He is a second generation labradoodle who is almost nine years old (yet still very active). He loves to play with toys and enjoys puzzle games that make him think a little bit (he loves those hide the treat toys). He is a big fan of running and loves to run around in our open field here at the rescue. Zeke responds well to his name and has a general understanding of basic cues (even though he is older he would still do exceptionally well with training… even if it’s just trick training for fun!).

How do I act when I first meet new people:  Very friendly

Tips and Tidbits: 2/10/2013 est. birthdate - Zeke does shed.  He is not hypoallergenic.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
