My Story

Date into Rescue: 1/29/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Bruce is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: They say the best gifts come in large packages, and this is certainly true for Bruce! This handsome poodle/bulldog mix is a goofy, active, bundle of love. Bruce grew up in a home with children over 10 and is great with them. He loves other dogs, but is way too much energy and size for a small dog. He did have a small dog jump in his face repeatedly in his previous home, which led to him snapping (but not hurting) the dog. Bruce is not good with cats. Bruce is accustomed to a lifestyle where someone is home during the day. He is happy as the only dog as long as his humans are around. He does shed!

What is my personality like: Bruce was raised in a home by a family that loved him very much. Sadly, life changed in unexpected ways and the family simply couldn't find a way to make it work to keep Bruce. They tried as they loved their boy very much.

Bruce is a affectionate man who can easily be won over with food. His favorite things in the world involve running and hugging. Bruce is a confident dog who wants to explore his surroundings and go on hikes! He’s an active boy and can play all day long. Bruce needs just as much mental stimulation as he does physical. He loves to learn!

Bruce walks well on a leash when using an easy walk. He can be a bit distracted on the walk especially if he sees a canine friend. He wants to play with everyone he sees! He does like having his crate around and it would be beneficial to have a crate in the home with the doors open so he can have access to a space that is just his.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Bruce's birthday is 1/6/2021

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
