My Story

Date into Rescue: 2/19/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Speedy has a grade 1 heart murmur and while that is normally, he also has an enlarged heart.  He is now on pimobenden 2.5 mg twice per day - at 1800petmeds, this medication is approximately $2.40 per day.  We have x rays and bloodwork for his new dogtor to use as a baseline.  Speedy had his teeth cleaned also.  Please note that Speedy is NOT a fan of large dogs.

What kind of home would be best for me: Speedy has been one of a happy pack of 5 poodles living with their older owner.  He is missing that calm, measured life and would love another lap and a few siblings to call his family.  However, we have found out that Speedy's idea of canine companions are ones that can look him in the eye. He has no use for large dogs at all. Speedy likes dogs his own size.

What is my personality like: Speedy is a shy soul that will need time in the home to open back up into the perfect companion he can be. He does better in calmer and quieter environment. He would prefer to have the company of another dog as he has always lived with a pack dogs. He likes beds where he can cuddle up to another dog and relax. He’s low energy and doesn’t need much exercise. He would love a home that can just shower him in love and attention!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Speedy is shy right now but we expect in the home that he will open up!

Tips and Tidbits: 2/19/2012 is Speedy’s estimated birthday.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
