My Story

Date into Rescue: 2/28/2022

Reason for being in rescue:  Jade has been a breeder dog in Ohio - she had 6 litters before being retired.  She had found a home and was very happy but her owner passed and family could not care for her.

Special Needs: Jade is spayed, up to date on routine vaccinations and heartworm tested and negative. She is microchipped.  Jade has large area of permanent asymmetrical hair loss over her lower back. The cause remains undetermined. She is in excellent health and the condition is asymptomatic. It is heavily pigmented and shouldn't be subject to solar induced pathology

What kind of home would be best for me: Jade is sunny and enthusiastic but has had little experience living in a home.  She's very good in a house but does need to be watched for counter surfing!  She is loving and affectionate and would love a home that enjoys touching her and having her be in the same room.  Jade has a lot of potential -I think she would make an amazing therapy dog. She has much love to give.

What is my personality like:  Jade is a enthusiastic and eager girl! She’s very happy all the time and lights up a room when she enters! Treats are the way to win her heart although you have to be careful about many she gets! She’s a master at puppy dog eyes and gets her way quite a lot!

Jade loves to play with other dogs but she prefers interacting with her people even more! She’d make a great companion in an variety of different types of homes! She can jump a 4ft fence but she readily comes back for her people!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Jade happily will meet anyone with a wagging tail and her famous smile!

Tips and Tidbits: Jade is good with smaller dogs and cats. Our estimated birthdate for Jade is 03/02/2016.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
