Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Hound (medium coat)
Weight: 56 lbs
Height: 20 in
Estimated Birthdate: 3/27/2021
Fence Needed: Yes. Juniper does look for ways she can climb or dig under fences. She will have to be supervised at all times when outdoors.
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: Juniper was found as a stray
Special Needs: Juniper is spayed up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. Juniper does get car sick and will be sent home with a dose of Dramamine.
What kind of home would be best for me: We are seeking a home with an experienced dog owner and someone who is home more than they're away. Juniper does well with other dogs but does not do well with small dogs and cats. She is vocal at times so a home that would risk getting a noise complaint would not be a good match. Juniper is looking for a home that loves and appreciates the hound breed.
What is my personality like: Juniper is affectionate and sweet. She loves to hang around her people. She easily can get bored when not given task to do so it would be great for her to have plenty of mental stimulation toys around. She really loves interacting with people and would love a multifamily household. She can be very high energy and will need a yard where she can get that energy out! She needs work on walking on a leash and will pull. Juniper can be a hard puller when she is going toward something so a easy walk harness would be ideal for her.
As with most hounds Juniper has a very loud voice and is not afraid to use it! Her beautiful howl could get her in trouble in the wrong home so her forever family will need an understanding that she will be vocal. She is good with medium sized dogs that can match her energy and larger dogs. She can not be placed with small dogs or cats.
Juniper is a very sweet dog and she is overall just looking for a family to call her own.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Juniper loves to meet new people!
Tips and Tidbits: Juniper was found as a stray so we have no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 1 year old. We celebrate her birthday as 3/27/2021.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
