What kind of home would be best for me: Rosie is a lab lover's dream. She is sweet and loyal and eager to please. She is gentle with humans and other animals. Rosie would be fine as your only dog, or living with other dogs of any size. She can also happily live with cats. She'd be great with children over 5 and would love to live a life where she's meeting new people regularly. Rosie is the kind of dog you can put into almost any situation and she will make the very most of it!
What is my personality like: Rosie arrived in rescue heavily pregnant. She gave birth to 12 beautiful puppies and was a wonderful mother to her final litter. But her baby making days are now behind her and Rosie is ready to be the companion she was born to be.
Everyone that meets her calls calls Rosie nearly perfect. She has a soul of a mother and a heart of deep loyalty. Rosie is looking for direction from her one true love/owner while she is romping and loving everyone around the house. The whole wide world is Rosie's friend but she will always come home to her person.
Rosie has basic commands and is working really hard on stay. In a foster home home, Rosie has been known to counter surf like a pro. However, in her foster home, once Rosie was corrected and she will remain down. Rosie can easily be trained the boundaries in a home and is eager for direction. Rosie is housetrained and did not have accidents when left alone for short periods of time. Also, she requests toys to be thrown in her forever home as she is a true blue retriever and needs daily play time.
Rosie gets along with dogs of all sizes and kinds as she is a dog mom at heart. Rosie has never lived alone, she has been one of many her whole life. We think she would do well on her own or with another dog of similar age and temperament. Rosie is a credit to her breed and exemplifies the best qualities of a lab. She is eager to walk by your side, stare into your eyes, and lie at your feet.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly - Rosie never meets a stranger!
Tips and Tidbits: Rose is estimated at 5 years old. We celebrate her birthday as 3/30/2017.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
