My Story

Date into Rescue: 03/27/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Tori was surrendered by her owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.

Special Needs: Tori is  up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. We do not have documentation that Tori is spayed. However, our veterinary partner completed a full exam and noted a very faint likely spay scar. Carolina Poodle Rescue does not do exploratory surgery on dogs to confirm spay. Tori will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum. On 04/01/2022, Tori had a major dental with extractions. She also had her ears professionally cleaned while under sedation. Full records, including blood panel, will be provided. Tori is blind. She has been evaluated by an eye specialist. In addition to cataracts, Tori unfortunately has retinal detachment in both eyes which makes corrective surgery impossible.

What kind of home would be best for me: Tori has no vision. Her hearing is limited. She is looking for a home that understands this. She is the perfect lap baby who also enjoys sleeping in soft beds while you are away. Tori can lives with dogs of all sizes and cats. What Tori really wants is a quiet home where she can be your princess. She won't go for walks and truly is low maintenance. At the end of the day she simply wants a home to call her own and a lap that will love and cherish her.

What is my personality like: Beautiful, special Tori. At 10 years old, this girl has lived a lot of life. We cannot imagine how confusing life must be - losing your home after 10 years and adjusting to new environments with no vision. Yet Tori takes everything in stride.

Tori is the sweetest, most gentle angel you will ever meet. She is quiet and really enjoys the simple things in life. Tori loves to be held and rocked like a baby (though she is a little big for this). She is the perfect lap princess who would love nothing more than to spend her days curled up on the couch with her head in your lap. At night, this princess will sleep snuggled as close to you as she can get. She rides quietly in the car and lives happily with dogs of all sizes and cats.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Tori's owners stated she was 10 years old at time of surrender. We celebrate her birthday as 03/27/2012.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
