My Story

Date into Rescue: 4/22/202

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Elijah is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Elijah is a young, active boy looking for an active home. He has endless energy and needs lots of physical and mental exercise every day. Elijah is smart and enjoys working; he is a great candidate for advanced training. Elijah is good with dogs of all sizes and with cats. Elijah's forever home is very active - he would love to be a running or hiking companion. He is not suited for a home where musical instruments are played (sorry band members) or where there is lots of loud noises as these make him nervous.

What is my personality like: Elijah is a happy, bouncy boy. He LOVES to play ball, loves to run and play in fenced yards, and loves people. Elijah is as active and energetic as he is happy. He enjoys going for walks, though needs manners to not pull on a leash (he is big and strong). He knows basic commands and enjoys showing off his skills. He will also play fetch for hours.

Elijah can be nervous around loud noises. He was placed in a home with children that took music lessons; the sounds of the instruments made him very uneasy. As one of his caregivers shares, he is highly active but likes quiet environments. Elijah is great with dogs of all sizes and loves to romp and play. He would make an awesome hiking companion and would be fun to take to the dog park.

Elijah has so much love to share with an active family!

How do I act when I first meet new people:

Tips and Tidbits: Elijah is estimated at 3 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 4/22/2019 .

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
