My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/7/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Ruby is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Ruby will be a light shedder and will need regular brushing and grooming for her silky coat. She is prone to knots if her coat is not maintained.

What kind of home would be best for me: Ruby is a young, active dog looking for a younger, active family with plenty of time for this girl. Ruby loves playing with medium-sized dogs (larger dogs overwhelm her). She'd be happy with a canine sibling or as the only dog in a family that has friends with dogs or will take her to doggie daycare or dog parks. Ruby is high energy and likely not well suited for a home with an older dog. She is fine with cats, but could be prone to chase them.

What is my personality like: Sweet, playful Ruby was lovingly surrendered by owners that want the absolute best for this good girl. Ruby was purchased with the great intentions of having an over the road trucker dog that could travel the country with her people. The road life is not the best life for this active, energetic young girl.

Ruby is looking for a family that can provide the exercise and play that every energetic Springerdoodle pup needs. She loves toys, car rides, treats, running like the wind, and playing with other dogs and people. She does best with medium sized dogs as the large dogs are overwhelming to her. She’s hung out with small, geriatric dogs and a cat and did fine but she would definitely be a bit much for an older, less playful dog. Our resident cat does not run from dogs so we’re not sure if she would chase a less dog savvy kitty but she was very interested in the cat and did try to engage with him (the cat declined the invite).

Sweet, playful, curious, and highly food motivated, Ruby will be a dream to train. When she’s played out, she is a great snuggler!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Ruby is under 1 year old. We celebrate her birthday as 7/26/2021.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
