My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/11/2022

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Ed is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Ed is a very young dog who has no life experience. Everything will be a new experience and you will teach him everything he learns about being a pet. Ed requires another active dog in the home for socialization and behavior modeling. He requires an owner experienced with dogs, and ideally experienced with rescue. He requires a family committed to positive reinforcement training. Ed is going to be a project, but he will be worth it.

What is my personality like: Ed is a oh so shy but sweet boy that will need a home where his people are understanding of the fact he has never lived in a home before. Every experience you give him will be all new. Ed is young and energetic. He will need a companion in the home for a good role model and to help him adjust to his new life. It will take Ed a while to show you his personality. His family will need to understand he is a nervous boy but once he gets to know you he will gladly give you his belly for some belly rubs!

Ed will need positive reinforcement training to help boost his confidence and to give him the tools he needs to succeed. He enjoys puzzle toys and lick mats very much. Ed does not walk well on a leash yet he’s only been on one a handful of times and it’s still a very new thing for him. It is required that Ed will have a crate in the home for when his people are away. He often likes to retreat to his crate for naps and is very good about keeping it clean.

Ed is a very wiggly happy boy once he opens up and starts to trust but this can take a while.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Very shy

Tips and Tidbits: Ed's birthday is 2/15/2021

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
