My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/11/2022

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Ellie has been spayed and had her teeth cleaned. She lost 6 teeth during her dental.  We are treating her for an ear infection - it's a bit of a stubborn yeast infection so treatment may be ongoing for a while.  Ellie has a scar on her tummy that is most likely from a C section.  We do not know how many litters she had but has probably had several.

What kind of home would be best for me: Ellie's best home will be one where routine and stability are the norm.  She likes things quiet and in order.  She is handling the happy chaos of our poodle farm well but you can tell that she would much prefer a quieter place to live.  She co-exists very peacefully with many different types of dogs and while we know she has never lived alone without other dogs, I think she would be fine without them.

What is my personality like: Gentle and easygoing, Ellie is a go with the flow kind of girl.  She is easy to get along with and asks for very little. Ellie has never been a pet - she needs someone to take her into their life and allow her true personality to unfold. She is a delicate bud - just waiting to blossom under your patient and caring hands.

Ellie is shy but a loving dog! She will follow you around all day with a wagging tail!! She is a very low energy dog. She loves napping and going on slow walks in the yard. Ellie is the sweetest and will love you no matter what, she just needs some time and patience to know you aren't so bad. She does very well with other dogs so she can be in a multiple dog environment. Ellie does well in a crate and absolutely loves treats.

Overall Ellie just needs a patient family that has lots of love to give this sweet girl.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Ellie is curious of new people but she is not the kind of dog who is openly affectionate when you first meet her.  She is going to hang back, look at the situation, and then approach with some caution.  She is not the type of personality that will bowl you over with affection.  It will take you some time and patience to win this one's heart.

Tips and Tidbits: We have verbal information that Ellie's birthdate is 10/8/2017.  She acts like a dog who is about that age.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
