My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/11/2022

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Spike is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 6/15/22, Spike had a major dental (including polishing) and lost 13 teeth. He is now ready for his forever home.

What kind of home would be best for me: Spike is young and cute and active. This boy has never lived as a companion pet, but is eager to learn and be your best friend. Spike has only ever lived as a pack; we do think he could be the only king in your castle, but would likely be happier with another dog. Spike gets along with dogs of all sizes. He has not been introduced to cats yet. If Spike has had exposure to children, it has been limited. He has a demeanor well suited to be a playmate for children over 10.

What is my personality like: Spike came to us as a breeder release. He has known life as one of many dogs. Spike is ready to be the man of the house or would work well as a second mate. Spike has done well with all dog sizes. He is eager to please and be silly along the way! As you can see in his photos, Spike very rarely sits still.

Spike is quick to learn and is very food motivated for rewards. He is a medium energy and would enjoy a small yard for short runs. This young man is ready to see a different world by living in a home.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Spike is estimated at 5 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 1/22/2015.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
