My Story

Date into Rescue: 6/29/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Cheyenne was surrendered by her breeder

Special Needs: Cheyenne is spayed, heartworm negative and current on routine vaccinations.  She is also microchipped.

What kind of home would be best for me: Cheyenne is looking for an active best friend to enjoy adventures with. She would do great with children of all ages, and would prefer to have at least one active dog friend to play with when her humans are tuckered out. If there is not another dog in the home, or even if there is, she would enjoy going to doggy daycare and frequent visits to the dog park. A fenced in yard is a must for her so she can explore, and roll in the grass, without having any restraints.

What is my personality like: If you're looking to adopt the epitome of man's best friend, Cheyenne is your girl! She loves her caregivers here at the rescue and is the ultimate sidekick. We can only imagine she will bond just as hard, or harder, to her fur-ever family. Cheyenne is an active girl, and does not sit still for long. She enjoys long strolls with her humans, play sessions in the backyard, splashing around in the kiddie pool, and rolling in the grass is an absolute must!

Cheyenne is a foodie, and will do just about anything to convince you to give her a little snack. With this knowledge in your back pocket, and a little bit of patience, training should be fairly easy with her. She knows the basics (ie. sit) but only does it for a split second before she is sauntering off to the next thing of interest, as mentioned above she doesn't sit still for long. If you are sitting there nodding your head, thinking "I too like adventures, enjoy food a little too much, and like having a sidekick", stop everything and go fill out the adoption application! NOW! GO NOW!

Cheyenne does well when crated, however, this should be kept to a minimum. She enjoys exploring too much to be limited to such a confined space. She is a mature dog and is very well behaved when allowed to free roam in inside spaces.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Cheyenne loves meeting new people, especially the ones who shower her with affection! She is the perfect sidekick for the social butterflies out there.

Tips and Tidbits: Cheyenne's birthday is 4/3/2016.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
