My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/1/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Lovingly surrendered by owners

Special Needs: Max is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Max is a younger dog looking for a home where someone is home during the day. He loves to snuggle and be close to his people and doesn't want to be alone during the day. His ideal home is with active retirees or a work from home family. Max is happy with other dogs of all sizes, but would be very happy as the only dog. He has never lived with cats or children. Max could live with children over 10 that have grown up with pets.

What is my personality like: Max is a quiet boy who wants to snuggle with his people or person. He has springs in his rear legs as he can jump up and his body will bounce up over half of a storm door when he sees his people coming in! Max knows a few basic commands - primarily sit and stay. He walks comfortably on a leash. If there is a lap, Max is going to be in it!

In his foster home, Max has done well with his house training. He enjoys playing in his fenced yard in his foster home, but would be equally happy with daily walks for exercise. Max is a sleep in the bed, snuggle in your lap sort of boy. He is a younger dog with so much energy and heart to share!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Max is estimated at 6 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 7/1/2016.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
