My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/9/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Bella was surrendered by her owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.

Special Needs: Bella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. On 07/18/22, Bella had a dental with 10 extractions. Bella will require routine dentals for the rest of her life. Bella also has recurrent ear infections. Keeping her ears clean is imperative. She is currently on ear medicine and will be sent home on meds. The vet noted that Bella has yeasty skin and needs a soothing bath every other day. Bella does have indications of a hooded vulva. The vet has examined her several times and suggested the issue is caused from allergies and licking and corrective surgery is not recommended. Full medical records will be provided.

What kind of home would be best for me: Sweet Bella is an easy-going girl. She lives in a foster home with dogs of all sizes and ages and is friends with everyone. She would be happy in a home with other dogs or as the only dog in your heart. She is fine with cats. What Bella wants most is a lap. She'd love someone home during the day, but it isn't a requirement. Bella is lower energy but still enjoys walks, sunbathing, and getting all the snuggles.

What is my personality like: While we don't know the circumstances leading Bella's family to surrender her to a NC shelter, we do know that she has been much loved. Bella is a laid back, gentle girl whose asks are simple - soft beds, gentle pets, and all the snuggles. Bella is a dog that gets along with everyone and everything she meets. She'd be a great travel companion and is eager to share her heart with her forever home!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Bella is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate her birthday as 7/9/2014.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
