My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/9/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Prince was surrendered by his owners to a rescue partner.

Special Needs: Prince is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Prince is a young boy looking for a home that is more quiet than loud. His ideal home is as the only dog, though he could live with another small lower energy dog. He is looking for a home where pets sit on the couch, travel with the family, and sleep in the bed at night. He'd love a set-up where someone is home during the day (work from home, active retirees or home schooling). He can be shy at first meeting so no children under 12 for this boy.

What is my personality like: Handsome Prince is a prince indeed. This beautiful boy was surrendered by his owners to a rescue partner. The rescue partner reached out to Carolina Poodle Rescue for us to help him find the perfect forever home.

When you first meet Prince, he is the quiet observer. He prefers to watch you and get to know you and then will approach you for a sniff. His personality is not at all what you expect of most terriers. He is generally very quiet. He doesn't jump up or bark at people. At two years young, he is an old soul.

It is clear that Prince has been well loved. He has good house manners in his foster home. He walks well on a leash. He enjoys sleeping in the bed snuggled up close to his person. He loves laps and wants to be with you if you are sitting down. Prince lives in a foster home with small and large dogs. He does not engage with them. He'd prefer to be your one and only.

If you are looking for a go-everywhere companion that will be your best snuggle buddy, Prince would love to be your man!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Timid but friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Prince is estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 7/9/2020.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
