My Story

Date into Rescue: 7/23/2022

Reason for being in rescue: owner release

Special Needs: Duchess is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Duchess has food allergies and eats a salmon and potato dog food blend. She also has some season skin allergies. Duchess is bonded to her best friend Lily. She will only be adopted to a home with room in their heart for both dogs.

What kind of home would be best for me: First and foremost, we are looking for a home with room in their heart for 2 dogs. Duchess and her best friend Lilly are bonded and will not be separated. If you don't have room in your heart for 2 dogs, please do not apply to adopt them. Duchess and Lilly would love a home where someone is home during the day, but it isn't a requirement. They would love a fenced yard, but will be happy if you take them for regular walks throughout the day.

What is my personality like: Hi everyone my name is Dutchess. My foster mom doesn’t really know what kind of dog I am but she says that I’m very loving and caring and I love to cuddle. She keeps me on salmon and potato dog food and I’m not allowed to have treats or people food because I have food allergies. I also have environmental allergies but they just flare up every now and then to where I have to have a shot and then I’m good again.

I love to be inside cuddling with my foster mom and my sister Lily. But I also love running around in my big backyard that’s fenced in. I’m not real big on playing with toys but I love all kinds of people that want to give me love and attention. I don’t know any strangers. My foster mommy says that’s a good thing and a bad thing. But I’m a very sweet little girl if anybody would like to adopt me. And oh also I am housebroken.

Duchess and her best friend Lily are wonderful girls looking for a home with room in their heart for 2 furry princesses!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Duchess is 4.5 years old. We celebrate her birthday as 7/23/2018.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
