Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Weight: 5 lbs and growing
Height: 6 in and growing
Estimated Birthdate: 4/17/2022
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: stray
Special Needs: Arte is neutered, up to date on vaccines and FIV negative. On 08/01/22 Arte had surgery on his hip to repair a fracture. He is recovering well.
What kind of home would be best for me: Arte is looking for a home that thinks cats should rule the world. He wants to be the center of your world, and does anything he can to make his presence known. He will tolerate dogs if he must, he is at a dog rescue afterall, but he isn’t a fan of the canine species. Arte would do well with children who are respectful, he is a delicate little creature. A caregiver at the farm saw him in the road after being hit by a car and immediately stopped to rescue him. He had to have hip surgery, and has been recovering beautifully. However, he still has a couple more months before his bones are 100% healed.
What is my personality like: Arte, “The One Man Party”, is all fun and no work. He will do whatever it takes to get your attention. He has been known to swat phones out of hands, sit on laptops, run away with your pen and papers, knock things off your desk, you name it! He is such a little goofball, and is always looking for some mischief to get into. He’s a firm believer that if he fits, he sits. There is no telling where you may find this nutty kitten hiding out. When he’s not being a little troublemaker, he is a sweet, little, love muffin! He loves to cuddle and give kisses, and is happiest when catnapping in your arms. He also enjoys long naps while bathing in the sun if your lap isn’t readily available. Be warned that he will steal your heart…it’s what he’s best at!
How do I act when I first meet new people: Arte loves people, especially when they give him all the pets and cuddles.
Tips and Tidbits: Arte came to us as a stray, but his estimated birthday is 4/17/2022.
House trained: Arte is litter box trained.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
