What kind of home would be best for me: Celia is looking for a calm, quiet and patient place to call her fur-ever home. She is fearful of loud noises and sudden, sporadic movements, and will either hide or seek comfort from her person. It may take Celia more time than most rescue dogs to adjust to her new home, but giving her the space to decompress will be time well spent. She is great with other dogs, both big and small, and even likes cats. Her patience level is out of this world, and does not let the other fur babies nonsense bother her. We are unsure if she has ever been around children, but seeing her interactions with other people and animals she would probably do well with them in the home.
What is my personality like: Celia is absolutely amazing! Upon first meeting you might think differently, but this girl is full of surprises. The more you gain her trust, the more her walls come down. This girl is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside, if not more so. She always wears a smile on her face, and is sure to bring a smile to yours. She always has one eye on her people, and doesn’t let them get too far before getting up to follow. Her favorite place to be is wherever her person is.
Celia enjoys walks, and does great on a leash. However, if something spooks her she will stop dead in her tracks and turn to stone. She is almost impossible to move, so be sure to bring along her favorite treats to coax her along should this happen on your walk. No matter what you may be doing, she will sit right by your side patiently waiting for you to finish so you can give her all the pets.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Celia is shy at first, but tends to warm up quickly. Speaking assurances to her softly while slowly petting her seems to calm her nerves. Treats also help once she has had the initial introductions, her favorites are the soft, chewy ones.
Tips and Tidbits: Celia’s exact birthday is 1/2/2017.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
