My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/7/2022

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Donal is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Donal is a young dog who's had no real life experiences and very limited socialization outside of other dogs. Another confident dog is a must to ease his transition into new environments and give him a play buddy. Once he's comfortable he turns into your typical goofy playful pup. Donal needs a family that will be patient and consistent in teaching him how to be a dog. Positive reinforcement training will be important for him and you.

What is my personality like: Donal is a classic breeder surrendered dog - slightly under-socialized, hasn't had a lot of new experiences in life, and needs to be taught how to be confident and sure of himself. He's still young with lots of puppy energy so there still plenty of time to continue his socialization and train him into being a polite young man (though he's naturally just a big teddy bear). Donal enjoys toys and will need them to direct him away from naughty chewing behaviors. He is so super sweet and loving. Once he learns you're his person he clings to your side when he's feeling unsure. He’s a cuddle bug and wants to climb in your lap and get belly rubs to soak up all the attention. He enjoys giving soft tail wags and kisses to show you he loves you.

Since Donal is still young we highly suggest some basic obedience training. He will need some work on leash skills and redirecting his excitement jumping. Donal is so ready to share his heart with his forever family!

How do I act when I first meet new people: A bit shy, but young and goofy and friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Donal's birthday is 12/19/2021

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
