Meet An Adoptable Dog
Breed: Chinese Crested-Powder Puff (medium coat)
Height: 7 in now and will grow to between 12 and 14 lbs
Estimated Birthdate: 6/2/2022
Fence Needed: No
Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC
Reason for being in rescue: breeder release due to life changes - sometimes you make hard decisions to give your dogs a better life
Special Needs: Ming Hau is a young puppy that is up to date on vaccines for his age. Due to his age and size, he is not neutered. Ming Hau will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract that requires you to neuter him at your expense within 12 months and provide proof of neuter to our rescue.
What kind of home would be best for me: Ming Hau is a bouncy, into everything, all over the place typical puppy. He's never met a stranger in his 4 short months on earth and has no plan to meet anything other than new lifelong friends. Ming Hau must have another dog in his home that is active and playful. He needs a home that will take him and his brother or sister everywhere. He wants to see the world, explore the world and then conquer the world.
What is my personality like: Bounce bounce bounce.. let's go! Ming Hau is wide open. He is great and clean in his crate but currently has no clue what to do on a leash - or why we even bother with those things. He'll learn.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Eager and ready to make your acquaintance.
Thank you for considering adding a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. You need to be prepared for that work. Because our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious where we put puppies.
Our ideal puppy adopters are:
*experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets
*be scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day
*and for those gone 4 hours per day have another
*be stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc)
If you fit this critera, please apply for this puppy. If you do not fit this criteria, we strongly encourage you to look at our adoptable adult dogs.
The number one misconception that we hear routinely from new dog owners is that they want a puppy because they do not think they can handle correcting past bad behaviors or resolving baggage. Not every adoptable rescue dog carries such baggage. Many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who have lost their families through no fault of their own.
The second misconception we hear is that adult dogs can not bond with a new family. This again is not a true statement. Adult dogs are ready and eager to give you their love. In return, you get a family pet that is a known quantity, known size and shape and color and ready to start on the new adventure, their life with you.
Lastly, training a puppy correctly is a tremendous commitment of time and energy. This is why we ask the puppy seeker have more time at home than the average working family. Puppies are gregarious and social creatures who crave attention and positive direction. You need the extra time to do it right.
Tips and Tidbits: 6/2/2022 is Ming's exact birthdate.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
