My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/18/2022

Reason for being in rescue: owner release

Special Needs: Lincoln is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 10/28/22 Lincoln had surgery to repair entropion on both of his eyes. He is now ready for adoption.

What kind of home would be best for me: Lincoln is a really big teddy bear. And by big we mean really big. He has a heart as big as his body and shares it openly. Lincoln is looking for a home where he can be someone's beloved companion. He would love another large dog for play, but will also be happy as your only dog. At less than 2 years old, Lincoln is active and needs plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He will also benefit from continued work on a leash - he is very strong but doesn't know his strength. Lincoln would be a great snuggle buddy for children over 5, a perfect hiking companion for a single professional, or a family pet for active retirees. He just wants to share his life!

What is my personality like: Lincoln is a big boy. He has a huge heart with SO much love to give. He is the biggest cuddle bug you have ever met! Lincoln hasn’t quite learned any basic commands yet, but his caregivers can tell that he will for sure excel with them. He has such great potential to become a therapy dog with how empathetic, loving and large he is. He is a total dream on the leash and has great manners while walking. With that being said, he would be so happy to become your new hiking or walking buddy.

Lincoln has a gentle, adventurous soul that would do great at physical activities! He is definitely going to need a large, fenced in back yard to run and get the biggest zoomies you have ever seen out of his system! Lincoln is very fond of games, especially the game of ball. Even if there isn’t a human to throw it, he will kick it around himself. After so much playing and a busy day, he loves the safety of his big, cozy crate. He says he will always be an advocate for the crates!

Lincoln absolutely loves the company of big dogs, but we do not recommend him being with small dogs solely for the fact of how big he is. The bigger the paws, the clumsier the doggie! Lincoln would love to be in your living room floor on his big, new comfy bed you bought him. This man is all about comfort, you give him a big cozy blankie and he is out like a light. So snuggly and warm. Lincoln loves his stuffed animals and treats them as if they were his teeny tiny children. Lincoln would do well with a family with children 5 and up.

All of Lincoln's caregivers have nothing but incredible things to say about this gentle giant. In their words, “He is simply a joy.” Lincoln would love to have a meet and greet with you!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Lincoln's birthday is 7/7/2021

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
