My Story

Date into Rescue: 9/30/2022

Reason for being in rescue: owner release/Chili is too energetic for life with two toddlers

Special Needs:  None noted unless you count boundless energy!

What kind of home would be best for me: Sweet Chili is looking for a home that will take all her energy and enthusiasm for life and help her to channel it into perfect behavior. She is so eager to learn and so willing to do whatever you ask - she needs a teacher, mentor and leader.  She vastly prefers the company of women and would be ideal for a single woman looking perhaps to try her hand at one of the canine sports. Chili also loves other dogs and would welcome another large, active dog in the home.

What is my personality like: A whole lot of fun. Chili is wide open and ready to party! She has mastered the all important SIT cue and uses it to look cute and get a lot of treats from her people.  Once those treats are in her tummy, she's OFF at a run for her new adventure.

Chili's needs behavior modification.  While she truly loves her people, she loves too hard and too much.  Her main problem is jumping up to get as close to you as she can.  This is not a behavior we want to encourage or allow to continue.  She needs routine, discipline and structure.  The good news is Chili loves other dogs and any activity involving a dog would be welcomed.  She also loves people and would do well as an only dog if you had time to spend and could arrange for play dates from time to time with other dogs.

Chili is crate trained and does very well in the house. She may have some slight allergies as she gets eye sleepy stuff in the am.  A wash cloth gets it out easily.  She would not do well with young children. She is too enthusiastic and too energetic for small children and intimidates them.

We have not yet tested Chili with cats but as active as she is, We are betting she would intimidate most cats.  Chili is an irish doodle - half irish setter and half standard poodle and all fun.

How do I act when I first meet new people:  Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: 7/12/2021 is Chili's birthdate.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
