My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/05/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Regina was seized by animal control and landed at a shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled her from the shelter.

Special Needs: Regina is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 10/14/22 Regina had a dental with 4 extractions. Regina also had an eye enucleation (removal) on her left eye due to glaucoma.

What kind of home would be best for me: Regina is a bit of an old soul. In fairness, she's endured a lot of medical procedures and is just now healing to a place where her personality can shine. Regina lives in a foster home with other dogs. She is fine with other small dogs, or would be happy as your only dog. If Regina has ever lived with children or cats we do not know. Her ideal home is one where this princess can sleep in the bed and be the lap princess she was born to be.

What is my personality like: Sweet Regina. This beautiful terrier girl has endured so much in her life, yet her heart is gentle, her spirit forgiving and her soul eager for love. Regina joined our rescue in pain - pain that left her quiet and reserved. As we've addressed the pain and allowed her body to heal, her personality has started to emerge. Today, Regina is a loving princess who enjoys cuddling with her human in her foster home.

Regina is vision impaired. She has adjusted beautifully to only one eye, but will be impaired for life. It does not slow down her zest for seeking affection or her ability to love and be loved. If you have a special place in your heart for scruffy terriers and are looking for a girl that will give you her entire heart, Regina would love to be your princess!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Regina is estimated at 7 years old. We celebrate her birthday as 10/05/2015.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
