My Story

Date into Rescue: 10/05/2022

Reason for being in rescue: Found as stray

Special Needs: Ichabod is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Ichabod is looking for a home where he will be the only dog. He lives in foster with other dogs, but really wants to be your one and only. As his foot continues to heal he will be up for more walks and play. Ichabod would love someone home during the day, but would be fine hanging out as long as you can provide breaks.

What is my personality like: We can't blame Ichabod for smiling in all of his photos. This boy was found as a stray off a major highway by a caring citizen. He was matted so severely he could not walk, and part of the pad of his foot tore with the matting. Don't mind his limp - the foot and leg are healing well and Ichabod's personality is really starting to shine.

For a dog that was found in such poor condition, Ichabod could not have a sweeter demeanor. From the first moment into rescue, he has shown us what grace and forgiveness look like. As his body is healing and recovering, Ichabod is soaking up all the love he can get. This boy is a sleep in the bed, snuggle beside you on the couch, go everywhere sort of companion. And bonus - he has even started playing with toys!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Ichabod was found as a stray so we have no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 5 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 10/05/2017.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
