My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/1/2022

Reason for being in rescue: owner surrender

Special Needs: Zoey is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Zoey is looking for a home where she will be treated like the princess she knows she is. She is the perfect size for apartment living, and would love going on trips to the local dog park. She gets along great with other dogs, so having another fur friend in the home to play with would be fine by her. Zoey loves everyone, but she does tend to gravitate towards the men in her life…she’s a bit of a flirt. She would be the perfect dog for a bachelor, but also would make a great family dog too. Zoey is very attentive when you are speaking to her, and always eager to please her people.

What is my personality like: Zoey is a princess out looking for her Prince Charming. She will cuddle up with anyone, but she loves the boys. Her eyes light up and will give the biggest smile when she sees her favorite people coming her way. She loves to love and be loved, so cuddle sessions are always a top priority on her to do list for the day. She is a lap dog through and through, but sometimes she likes to pretend to be a parrot and perch on your shoulder.

Zoey is typically very quiet, but when she does decide to finally bark she may burst your eardrums. She has one of the most unique barks we have ever heard. She sounds almost like a 1970’s scream queen being attacked by the monster. She has given us all a few scares here on the farm thinking she was hurt, only to find out she just wanted us to pick her up for some snuggles.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Zoey can be shy at first, but she warms up quickly. Her need to love on people always wins out over her shyness.

Tips and Tidbits: Zoey came to us as a stray, so we do not know anything about her history. She is estimated to be about 3 years old, and we celebrate her birthday 11/1/2019.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
