Reason for being in rescue: Reason for being in rescue: Apollo was lovingly surrendered after his family were faced with being deployed to Germany. Unfortunately Apollo was not able to travel across the world to stay with his family. The family is very invested in Apollo’s adoption and hope to see their beloved pet in a home that will love him as much as they do.
Special Needs: Apollo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.
What kind of home would be best for me:
Apollo is a young mild energy dog looking for a family to call his own. Apollo has only lived life as a spoiled companion, he’s always been included in family life and very much wants to have that again. Apollo could live as an only dog or with other dogs of any size. He’s shown little to no interest in cats. Apollo is used to being alone for up to 8 hours, he is okay with this and will just lay in the couch and wait for you to return. Apollo wants to live in suburbia, he can go out to football games, he wants to have Christmas dinner with the family, he truly just wants to be apart of a family. Apollo is going to be your very best family dog.
What is my personality like:
Apollo is the definition of prim, proper, and polite. He takes life as it is and flows with your routine. Apollo is as snuggly as you can get from a dog! He’s often found on top of his foster mom's chest snuggled up, he doesn’t understand that he is a little too big to be a lap dog. Apollo loves his toys, he seeks them out often for comfort and play! He does sleep loose in the house during day and night with his foster. He does not chew or make messes in the house!
Apollo can be spunky and more active from time to time, he’s up for an adventure from time to time but doesn’t need this often. He truly is your cuddling companion all day and night. He’s happiest when he’s with his people.
How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly
Tips and Tidbits: Apollo is 4 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 11/2/2018.
House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.
Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
