My Story

Date into Rescue: 11/15/2022

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release

Special Needs: Teresa is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Teresa had a dental on 12/4/22 and lost 8 teeth.  Her dental needs will need to be addressed regularly going forward.  They were ignored. Teresa had poodle eye stains we are working to lessen.

What kind of home would be best for me: Teresa is a retired breeder dog and as such, she has not yet had a chance to learn what it is like to be a best friend and companion dog. She is learning quickly in her foster home and is going to make some family very lucky.  She is sweet and eager to learn - she needs you to show her. Teresa requires another confident dog in the home to learn from. She is good with dogs of all sizes and good with cats. Teresa could live with mature children who have grown up with dogs and understand that sudden movements can be scary. Teresa is looking for a home where she can sleep in the bed and snuggle on your lap. She'd love someone home during the day (work from home, active retiree, etc.).

What is my personality like: Teresa is a retired breeder momma and is finding out what it's like to be a best friend and companion dog in her foster home. She is sweet and eager

to learn but can be mischievous at times. Teresa loves to Shake, Rattle and Roll her crinkly sounding stuffies and any forbidden treasures she finds within her reach! She is a pro paper

shredder and has been known to do a zoomie or two. She is curious and friendly and shown her confidence during trips to PetSmart and the dog park. She is calm around dogs of all sizes,

strangers, loud noises, bikes, skateboarders and moving vehicles. She sleeps on her foster mom's bed with 3 cats and 3 dogs weighing 13 lbs, 28 lbs, and 42 lbs.

Confident, curious, playful, and funny. Teresa has blossomed into a happy dog in just a few short weeks!

How do I act when I first meet new people: Cautious but curious.

Tips and Tidbits: We were not given Teresa's actual birthdate so have given her a birthdate of 11/15/2018.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
