My Story

Date into Rescue: 12/10/2022

Reason for being in rescue: owner release

Special Needs: Loo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Loo has itchy skin that could be seasonal allergy or food related. He has responded well to antibiotics, but is something his forever home will continue to monitor as it does cause some hair loss.

What kind of home would be best for me: Loo is looking for a home where he will be able to play all day and exert all of his energy. Loo needs a doggy companion who can show him the ropes and balance out his outgoing personality but also be a playmate. Since Loo is so young he is still figuring out how to be sure of himself, and we believe that he will blossom into a confident and outgoing dog. Loo does well with dogs of all sizes, and doesn’t pay much attention to cats so believe he will be fine in a home with cats.

What is my personality like: For a young dog, Loo has lived a lot of life. He arrived in rescue via a NC shelter to which he was surrendered. His original owners had rehomed him on Craigslist (we don't know why) and his new owners surrendered him to a shelter after less than 48 hours in the home. That is a lot of change in a short amount of time and Lou was panicked as you can imagine.

As Loo has settled into life in rescue, we have seen a wonderful personality emerge. Loo still has a lot of puppy energy since he just recently turned a year old. He has never met a stranger and loves everyone. He is one outgoing boy, the caregivers here all love his spunky antics. He also loves to be held like a baby (check out some of the photos on his profile of his caregiver holding him!).

Loo would be the perfect hiking, or running buddy but he does need some fine tuning with his leash skills. He is super dog friendly and enjoys running and playing with his buddies here at the farm all day long. Since arriving here at the farm Loo has presented some skin issues but he is on the road to overcoming them with a special diet. We believe these issues came from either allergies or a food sensitivity.

Loo is timid and fearful at the vet. With his caregivers he is a very social and loving dog. Something about the smells of a vet's office makes him nervous and you will see a more timid and anxious dog in this setting.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Loo is estimated at 1 year old. We celebrate his birthday as 2/10/2022.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

Thank you for considering CPR!
