My Story

Date into Rescue: 1/3/2023

Reason for being in rescue: stray

Special Needs: Jericho is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.

What kind of home would be best for me: Jericho is a man with an unknown past. He is great with humans of all sizes and absolutely loves to be with people. With other animals, it depends. Jericho is picky about his friends and feeds off the energy of others. He will not back down to alpha personalities and if he were a human, would be known as the person that has to have the last word. Jericho has done well with some other large dogs at our rescue. With others he honestly has not.

Given this, Jericho will only be placed in a home where he is the only dog. He is not a dog that you will take to the dog park. He is not suited for a home with small dogs or cats. He will, however, enjoy being your hiking companion and going on adventures with you.

What is my personality like: While Jericho’s past may remain unknown, we do know for sure that at some point this boy was well loved. Jericho has proven to be an affectionate and pretty well mannered dog. He so far has been easy on a leash, good in a crate, and friendly with his humans.

We feel Jericho’s best home will be in a family setting. Jericho is eager to be apart of things, he loves to be involved. We can imagine Jericho in a lifestyle that is moderate, not too on the go but also enjoys the occasional family outing. Jericho would love to go downtown on leisurely strolls, play in a big back yard, and snuggle up on the couch with his family at the end of the day. Jericho will offer comfort, love, and happiness to the right home.

How do I act when I first meet new people: Friendly

Tips and Tidbits: Jericho was found as a stray so we have no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 5 years old. We celebrate his birthday as 11/08/2017.

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
