My Story

Date into Rescue: 1/28/2023

Reason for being in rescue: breeder release/retiring

Special Needs: Mannie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative

What kind of home would be best for me: Mannie has been part of a breeding operation for his first 3 years.  He made beautiful babies.  Now it's time for him to be the baby and the king of someone's heart. His life experience has been both in a kennel and he has lived in his breeder's home.  While kennel life is fun and rather like going to camp, Mannie really likes the whole couch living thing and is ready for that again.  Mannie is a loving boy that is eager to learn and please. Mannie would be best in a home with another active dog, but could be your only pet. If you have another dog, it needs to be a female. Mannie had occasional conflicts with other dominant males in the breeding facility where he lived previously. This isn't a surprise - Mannie is a lady's man. When your this kind of poodle eye candy, of course the other guys are jealous.

Mannie will benefit from positive reinforcement training and requires a home that will commit to this training with them. Mannie has never lived with cats or children. He has a demeanor that we believe will be fine with children over 10 that have experience with dogs.

What is my personality like: Mannie is a male 3 year old phantom poodle who came to CPR in late January as a breeder release.Mannie is very loving and is eager to please.  He would love to learn new skills because they get him attention -and he loves attention.  He loves people as well as other girl dogs.

Mannie knows a few basic commands and is very eager to learn tricks and skills with the right amount of patience. He needs a home who will be dedicated to teaching him how to be a true pet. Mannie would do well with a younger to middle aged family, as his caregivers can see high potential for being an adventure dog, but also likes to take things slow and relax when he likes. He has very good leash skills and is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the love and affection from his people.

Mannie has shown to be crate trained and takes care of the things he calls his own. Mannie is looking for a family who will love him to the ends of the earth, just as he would do for you.

How do I act when I first meet new people: A little timid but happy

Tips and Tidbits: Mannie's birthday is 5/23/2019

House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Potential Adopters

Please note - we do not ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting a dog, take a look at the distance between the dog's location and your location and make sure you are able to make the trip.

Thank you for your interest in a dog who needs a new home. This description contains all that we currently know about this dog. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. When screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, age, temperament, personality, etc. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
